Referral criteria for FABLE

In line with the Big Lottery funding indicators and outcomes for the 5 year life of the project (2012-17) we aim to:

Support the families of children, where there is challenging behaviour, who:
  • Are up to 15 years of age
  • Live in the London Borough of Haringey
  • Have a statement of special educational needs or is in process or where a statutory assessment would be considered appropriate
  • Have a significant level of learning, sensory or health impairment e.g.

- Autistic Spectrum Disorder
- Global developmental delay
- Severe Learning Difficulties
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
- Significant speech/language/communication difficulties
- Physical disabilities
  • Receive 15 or more hours of support in a mainstream setting
  • Attend a specialist setting e.g. maintained special school, children centre, etc.

We will not take referrals for children who have a social and emotional behavioural disorder or those currently subject to a child protection plan at the time of referral.

We are seeking to support families at differing  levels dependent upon need:
  • Low level - averaging around 6 – 18 months
  • Medium Level - averaging around 2 – 3 years
  • High Level - averaging around 4 – 5 years
